In the aftermath of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), two Russian officers sit in a dimly lit bar, engaged in a tense and surreal exchange. Their subject: a Japanese soldier whose head inexplicably detached during a drunken brawl-an eerie consequence of an old, untreated war wound. As their conversation deepens, the macabre anecdote unfurls into a meditation on the absurd legacy of violence and the elusive, shifting nature of humanity itself.
